What got you huk'd?
In terms of pivotal moments and defining feelings, the shock and awe of new experiences is what got me huk’d on fishing. Exploring and learning about an environment so foreign to us airbreathers has always enamored me. However, the “moment” that enveloped me in the pursuit of reeling something in wasn’t a single moment, but a definable longing to understand a world opposite our own.
Did you always know fishing would be your career?
No, I just knew I loved fishing and wanted to do it as much as I possibly could! When doors opened to make that possible, it was a no-brainer to chase it.
What's your favorite catch?
Two catches stand out to me vividly, and I can’t include one without the other. In my first major win at Stop #1 of the 2024 Pro Circuit season and in my second BPT win at Stage 3 in 2025 I won by a margin of less than three pounds. Both events I weighed one fish that bit three times before I hooked it. They weighed seven pounds and five pounds respectively. Being given not just a second, but a third chance on fish of that caliber are when you know a day is going to go your way!
What's next on your bucket list?
Catching a double digit bass has been on that list for a long time, but I want it to happen organically, so I’m not “chasing” it per se.
What's the one thing every angler should invest in?
Livescope, or diving equipment. Either way, seeing what goes on in the underwater world is so magical, it’s like getting to watch your own unique Blue Planet documentary every single day.
